How to use an SMS QR code
Scan the code and open the SMS link on a phone with a messaging app. Review the recipient and message before sending. SMS handling differs between devices and scanner apps; normal carrier charges may apply.
Frequently asked questions
A few things to know before you share.
Will scanning send the text?
No. The QR code opens a message draft. The person scanning must choose to send it.
Does the message work on every phone?
This tool uses the sms URI format with an optional body parameter. Phone and scanner support varies, so test your exported code on both iOS and Android before distributing it.
Can the QR code bypass SMS charges?
No. The tool creates the code for free, but sending the message uses the device’s messaging service and carrier plan.
